The Beat Merchants’ was a compilation of early 1960s 'Mersey Beat' songs. The art is a recreation
of of a typical record store of the period. Unlike the mega music store of the 1990s the place the
latest hit single was purchased was a small shop that also sold sheet music, instruments, amps,
everything you need to start a band. It wouldn't have survived merely on the sale of hit 45s.
