Bumpers was one of a set of 50 screen prints that were made to decorate a wall in ‘Mr Freedom’, a store in London. The wall of prints was purchased by Chris Blackwell of Island Records. They just happened to be squares, the artist had never thought in terms of the image being used as a record cover.
